As a health and nutrition coach, I am often being asked what I eat for breakfast or what other people should eat to give them plenty of energy for the day ahead. My answer to that question is always a meal that involves a quality protein, carbohydrates and lots of healthy fats! This green power protein smoothie ticks all of those boxes and more! I have been having this smoothie regularly for a few years now and I still can’t get enough of it. It is full of goodness that will make you look and feel amazing for the day ahead!

Green Power Protein Smoothie
Ingredients:ย

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/3 cup frozen mango
  • 1 large handful baby spinach
  • 1 medjool date (pitted and chopped)
  • 1 serve of vanilla protein power (I use PranaON plant protein)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp psyllium husks or chia seeds
  • 1 cup milk of choiceย  (I use either Pureharvest coconut or almond milk)

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a bowl and decorate with your favourite toppings. I like to alternate my topping combinations but they will usually contain 2-3 of the following: coconut flakes, goji berries, cacao nibs, homemade granola, pepita seeds, fresh fruit or nut butters.
